CSX Employees Deliver a Touch of Home to Deployed Troops (2021)

Deployed U.S. troops enjoyed a touch of Christmas in July this year with the help of nearly 200 CSX employees, who joined with family members and friends to make more than 3,000 paracord survival bracelets that were added to overseas care packages.

Held in conjunction with CSX Pride in Service partner, Operation Gratitude, the activity enabled railroaders and their families to show their gratitude to U.S. armed forces members serving overseas by making the bracelets from the comfort and safety of their own homes. In addition, CSX supported Operation Gratitude’s Assembly Day at the D.C. Armory, where care packages were filled for distribution around the world. More than 10,000 care packages were sent during this year’s Christmas in July.

Participants in the bracelet-making activity who returned their completed kits were entered in a drawing to win a CSX Pride in Service prize pack. The winners were Emily Huth, Rod Logan, Sharon Parker, Shikirra Phillips and Kinnetta Wilkes.

Operation Gratitude noted that these acts of gratitude may seem small, but they make a big difference to our nation’s men and women stationed overseas. The Pride in Service team thanks everyone who participated in these opportunities.
