CSX Customer Advisory: Update on CPKC Embargoes on U.S./Mexico Railway Crossing Bridges

This advisory is to provide an important update regarding the embargoes announced by Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) on Mexican border crossings due to the suspension of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operations.

The embargoes, which affect all equipment types crossing to and from Mexico at Brownsville and Laredo, Texas, are now being limited to specific commodities. This includes:

Corn (not popcorn) or maize (not popcorn), shelled, dried not organically grown free of fertilizer and or pesticide applications
Wheat not organically grown free of fertilizer and or pesticide applications
Soybeans, dried not organically grown free of fertilizer and or pesticide applications
Beans, edible, NEC, dried
Distillers mash, spent, not wholly from grain or grain products, feed
Soybean (soy) flour, suitable for human consumption

These restrictions are in addition to those announced earlier by Union Pacific, BNSF, and Ferromex for all shipment types crossing to and from Mexico at Eagle Pass and El Paso, Texas.
