CSX operations is continuing to monitor the path of Hurricane Matthew and has made extensive preparations for the effects of the storm. The extent of the potential impact this system will have on CSX operations is not known at this time. Several division operating departments are making tactical plan changes and curtailments to proactively move as much freight as possible to minimize the impact of possible delays.

During this process, the company’s priorities are the safety of employees, infrastructure and meeting the needs of customers. The CSX Customer Service Center will remain open throughout the duration of the storm to answer calls regarding individual customer issues. We are working with customers to best accommodate requests in anticipation of storm-related disruptions to the rail network. More updates will be provided as CSX continues to closely monitor the path and intensity of Hurricane Matthew which is predicted to significantly impact the southeastern United States coastline late this week and the Mid-Atlantic into the weekend.
