CUSTOMER SERVICE BULLETIN - New Orleans Gateway Re-Opens

Repairs are progressing on a 15-mile segment of CSX’s Gulf Coast line east of New Orleans that was damaged by Hurricane Isaac’s landfall on August 29.
 
Since the storm’s landfall, CSX temporarily adjusted its network plan to redirect trains to gateways at Memphis, Tenn., and Birmingham, Ala. Starting Saturday morning, CSX will resume taking trains at its New Orleans gateway and expects all traffic to be normalized by Monday morning.
 
Some delays may continue until traffic is normalized.
 
While CSX’s Gentilly Yard at New Orleans was not significantly affected, the storm damaged a line segment between Rigolets, La., and Pass Christian, Miss.
