CUSTOMER SERVICE BULLETIN - CSX Tracks Closed Temporarily Between Evansville and Terre Haute, Ind.


August 2, 2012 – A mainline derailment at Decker, Indiana, has resulted in the temporary shutdown of the north-south mainline between Evansville and Terre Haute, Ind. Some re-routes are being implemented, but customers with shipments on that line should expect delays of approximately 24 hours.

The train was traveling from Nashville, Tenn., to Chicago when it derailed 10 cars early today. No injuries were reported, and all freight loads are secure. Contractors are on site to begin re-railing operations, and the tracks are expected to be restored late tonight.

An investigation into the cause of the derailment is under way.

The company’s Customer Service Center is coordinating with affected shippers and receivers. Customers should contact the Customer Service Center via ShipCSX’s Problem Resolution tool or by calling 1-877-SHIPCSX, prompts 5, then 6.
