CSX Transportation is working on two incidents that occurred earlier today and are affecting train traffic on two main lines in the Mid-Atlantic region.
In Lynchburg, Va., an oil train derailed 16 cars. In Baltimore Md., an earth slide has covered the tracks and closed the line at that point. Customers should expect delays to shipments over these routes. CSX officials are working with local authorities at both locations.
Re-route options around both incidents are limited, but will be used if possible.
Customers with questions about shipments can contact the Customer Service Center via www.shipcsx.com or by calling 1-877-ShipCSX (1-877-744-7279) options 5, 6.
