CSX Customer Advisory: Marion County, SC, Derailment May Cause Delays

Please be advised that CSX is temporarily rerouting trains where possible and adjusting service following a 17-car derailment this morning in Marion County, South Carolina.

Safety is the most urgent priority of the CSX team, and we are thoroughly evaluating this incident to identify the cause of this event. The incident involved six rail cars carrying wood chips and 11 empty rail cars. There were no injuries as a result of this event, and no hazardous materials were involved. We have also confirmed that there is no danger to the public.

CSX crews are working diligently to restore operations safely and efficiently. However, the time frame for complete restoration remains uncertain. We understand the inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your understanding and patience during this period.
