CSX Customer Advisory: Hurricane Milton Update

October 8, 2024

CSX is implementing storm preparations as Hurricane Milton approaches the Florida Gulf Coast, with landfall expected Wednesday evening near Tampa Bay. Precautions are being taken to ensure employee safety and protect rail assets. Current forecasts indicate the likelihood of flash flooding, extreme winds, and tornadoes throughout much of the state, with impacts reaching as far north as Georgia and South Carolina.

Shipments through the Tampa area are likely to face delays until the storm passes. Additionally, operations at several CSX intermodal and TRANSFLO terminals are being suspended, with potential for further closures as the storm moves across central Florida. Here are details on current CSX operating measures ahead of the storm:

INTERMODAL

Intermodal gate closure times are indicated below. Customers are advised to pick up units marked as "notified" in ShipCSX before the gates close, and continue to monitor ETN and EDI messages for the latest updates on freight availability. Temporary transit delays may occur at the listed locations.
