CSX is actively assessing the impacts of Hurricane Milton and has initiated service recovery plans. Hurricane Milton, which made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida, on Wednesday night as a Category 3 storm, weakened to a Category 1 as it moved across the Florida peninsula and into the Atlantic Ocean, leaving flooding and structural damages along its path. Consequently, communities across Florida are experiencing disruptions.
Our CSX team is diligently working to ensure safety and service continuity by clearing tracks, inspecting signals and crossings, installing generators, and conducting necessary repairs in affected areas. However, please be aware that some service delays are expected across the region.
Key updates at this time:
Work is ongoing in Central Florida, with efforts focused on addressing washouts on the Carter and Vitis Subdivisions.
The CFR line is expected to be open tomorrow night, providing a potential route into Winter Haven.
We will keep you informed of any further developments or changes affecting our operations. Please monitor CSX Customer Advisories and Intermodal-specific Real-Time Service Advisories for updates, and notify your CSX contact of any site closures or changes in local service needs due to the weather.
