CSX Customer Advisory -- CSX to Restore Mainline Service to Florence, SC

CSX engineering teams expect to restore service to the mainline between Florence, SC and Charleston, SC by Saturday morning, October 10th. The mainline between Hamlet, NC and Charleston, SC continues to be flooded. Engineering will inspect this route as soon as water levels recede to safe conditions. All through traffic continues to be rerouted. Customers should expect delays of up to 48 hours on these cars.
Subdivisions:
- Eastover Sub: Columbia, SC to Orangeburg, SC. Several sections of track along this route have experienced wash out conditions. Rail service is suspended until CSX engineering can assess damage and restore service. A timeline has not been determined at this time.
- Lane Sub: Lane, SC to Sumter, SC. CSX engineering expects to restore service on this sub late Friday night, October 9th.
- Orangeburg Sub: North end (Sumter, SC to Creston, SC) is expected to return to service late Friday night, October 9th. The South end is expected to be back in service Monday, October 12th.
- Creston Sub: Service between Creston, SC to Giant, SC is expected to be restored by Monday, October 12th.
