CSX Customer Advisory: CSX Operations Moving after Debby Makes Landfall

August 5, 2024

CSX continues to monitor Tropical Storm Debby, which made landfall this morning as a Category 1 hurricane along the Big Bend coast of Florida. The storm is expected to slowly track northeast into Georgia today, bringing continued heavy rain and gusty winds.

Customers can expect minor delays to traffic originating and terminating in the Southeast region as the CSX team navigates storm conditions. However, the CSX network is still moving at this time, and all intermodal terminals are maintaining normal gate hours and lift operations.

CSX team members are actively monitoring tracks, signals, and crossings, and are prepared to take quick action when needed. Ahead of the storm, CSX implemented precautionary measures to protect employees, rail traffic, and infrastructure, including repositioning assets and identifying alternative routings that may be required for some traffic.

We will continue to track the storm as it evolves and will issue further notifications as warranted. Please monitor our Customer Advisories and the Intermodal-specific Real-Time Service Advisories for information on potential impacts. Additionally, please notify your CSX contact of any site closures or changes in local service needs due to the weather.
