CSX Customer Advisory: CSX Monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias

Please be advised that CSX is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias as it moves through the Gulf of Mexico toward the northern Gulf Coast. The storm is expected to strengthen before making landfall late Friday or early Saturday, bringing the potential for damaging winds, heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and storm surge from the Mississippi coast through Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.

The safety of our employees, customers, and communities remains our top focus. CSX is proactively adjusting operating plans to protect people, equipment, and infrastructure while minimizing potential service disruptions. Preparations include securing equipment and facilities, moving railcars from low-lying areas, staging generators and response resources, and developing alternate routing and train plans as conditions warrant.

Anticipated floodgate closures in the New Orleans area may impact interchange traffic through the New Orleans gateway. CSX teams will continue monitoring the storm’s track and intensity and will adjust operations as needed. We will provide updates on any changes that may affect service.
