CSX Customer Advisory - CSX Activates Winter Action Plan

The first significant snow event of the winter season has prompted CSX Transportation operations to activate the Winter Action Plan communicated in the series of Winter preparedness announcements beginning last October.  The team is continuously monitoring the building winter weather conditions in the Ohio Valley, Midwest, and Great Lakes regions impacted by lake effect snow from Cleveland through Northwestern New York, including Buffalo and Syracuse. 
 
We are currently experiencing normal winter delays associated with frozen switches and bitter cold temperatures in these areas. Minor delays can be expected as CSX manages through this current bout of winter weather.  We are also working to anticipate how potential lake effect snow later this week could pose more unforeseen issues.  As always, our first priority is the safety of our employees and the needs of our customers.
