Released: December 23, 2011
Earlier today, the NRLC issued a press release announcing that members of the Transportation Communications Union/IAM (TCU) and the Brotherhood Railway Carmen-Division TCU/IAM (Carmen) have ratified the tentative agreements reached earlier this month. Ratification votes are still underway for the remaining eight unions who reached tentative agreements, but this is great progress.
We are still working toward a tentative agreement with the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees (BMWE), with whom we agreed to extend negotiations to a February 8 deadline.
We’ll keep you posted on any further developments as they occur. In the meantime, have a safe and happy holiday season.
