Released: January 5, 2012
Three unions announced today that their members have ratified their tentative agreements with the railroads: the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET), the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the Firemen and Oilers (F&O). This brings the total number of union ratifications to five, with five more unions still in the process of voting. The others will likely have results next week or the following week. Negotiations for a tentative agreement with the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees (BMWE) continue, under the extended deadline of February 8.
We’ll keep you posted on any new developments.
