CSX to Provide Two Days of Demurrage Relief for Upcoming Holidays

During the Christmas and New Years holidays, CSX is giving two days of demurrage relief. All merchandise traffic covered by the CSXT 8100 Tariff will get two additional unloading credits provided for December 24 and December 25, 2009 as well as for December 31, 2009 and January 1, 2010. The billing statements will reflect the demurrage relief.

Holiday Reminders

  • CSX will have limited service on the dates listed above in observance of the holidays.
  • Customers should place their car orders as early as possible in advance of every holiday.


  • Watch for notices on CSX.com or ShipCSX for any further updates and details on the service plan over the holiday period. For all other service matters, contact Customer Service at 1-877-ShipCSX (1-877-744-7279), prompts 5 and 6.
