December 6, 2023 — CSX has been recognized for the third consecutive year by Newsweek magazine as one of America’s Most Responsible Companies.
CSX appears at number 258 overall on the 2024 list of the nation’s 600 most-responsible companies, and number 4 among 20 in the Transportation & Logistics sector. The “most-responsible” companies are chosen from among the 2,000 largest U.S. public corporations based on revenue.
Newsweek and Statista, a global research and data firm, created the annual ranking of the companies that best demonstrate the qualities of good corporate citizenship based on environment, social and governance (ESG) criteria.
In addition to receiving the Newsweek honor, CSX has been recognized consistently as an ESG leader, both among transportation companies and among all U.S. companies. Most recently, the company was named to the Forbes Net Zero Leaders list of the top 100 companies focused on sustainability, and it was recognized by USA TODAY as one of America’s Climate Leaders. CSX also is recognized as one of America’s “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion” by Disability:IN and has received multiple honors as a military-friendly company for its hiring and support of veterans.
“Being a responsible corporate citizen is more than a policy statement at CSX; it’s a commitment we demonstrate every day through our actions and results,” said Joe Hinrichs, CSX president and chief executive officer. “We’re continually finding innovative ways to reduce emissions and support our customers’ supply chain carbon-reduction goals. We also engage with communities to enhance safety, and we work tirelessly to increase diversity and inclusion in our workforce.”
