Riz Chand 

Chief Human Resources Officer

Riz Chand was named Chief Human Resources Officer of CSX, effective February 2026. In this role, Chand oversees Human Resources, Total Rewards, People Systems, and Occupational Health Compliance. He is responsible for leading CSX’s employee strategies in support of the company’s long-term business objectives.

Prior to joining CSX, Chand served as Chief Talent Officer and an Operating Partner at AEA Investors, where he partnered with portfolio companies to assess, acquire, organize, retain, and develop top talent. In addition, he was responsible for helping organizations design and sustain high-performing cultures and effective organizational structures. 

Chand brings extensive experience as a senior human resources executive, having held leadership roles at BNSF, Energy Future Holdings Corp., Kennametal, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Aetna International. Earlier in his career, he worked at PepsiCo Foods and The Hay Group, where he developed a strong foundation in talent management, organizational design, and leadership development.

Chand holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.

He is active in the community and previously served as Chairman of the Board of the United Way of Tarrant County. He has also been a member of the executive committee of the board of directors for the Health Transformation Alliance.
