CUSTOMER SERVICE BULLETIN - Natural Gas Leak Forces Suspension of Trains Through Chalmers, Indiana

July 13, 2012 – A natural gas pipeline leak this morning next to CSX tracks at Chalmers, Indiana, has suspended rail service at that location for 48-72 hours while the leak is repaired.

CSX will continue to serve customers on either side of Chalmers, but no through trains will be permitted to operate until the leak is repaired. Through traffic normally using that line will experience delays until the repairs are complete.

The leak occurred late this morning in a pipeline owned by the Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO).

CSX’s Customer Service Center is coordinating with affected shippers and receivers. Customers should contact the Customer Service Center via ShipCSX’s Problem Resolution tool or by calling 1-877-SHIPCSX, prompts 5, then 6.
