CUSTOMER SERVICE BULLETIN - Tropical Storm Isaac -- Monday Noon Update

Released: August 27, 2012

CSX is assessing impacts from Tropical Storm Isaac in Florida, and continues preparations as it approaches the Gulf Coast. Initial inspections along the path of the storm by CSX crews indicate relatively minor impacts to the railroad’s South Florida operations.

With the storm approaching New Orleans and Mobile, the New Orleans Levy Board is closing flood gates at noon today, which will prevent rail movements and interchanges by all railroads in New Orleans. Traffic destined to New Orleans, Mobile and Pensacola is being held until the storm passes and routes reopen. However, where possible, CSX is moving traffic via alternate routes to reach its destination.

CSX continues to make preparations to protect employees, customers, stakeholders and infrastructure. While the exact track of the storm remains uncertain, CSX made a contribution to the American Red Cross for use in storm preparations.

Customers with shipments scheduled to travel in or through these storm impacted areas can expect delays of up to 72 hours. For more specific information on shipments, customers can contact the CSX Customer Service Center via ShipCSX's Problem Resolution Tool or by calling 1-877-ShipCSX (1-877-744-7279), prompt #5, then prompt #6. Intermodal customers needing more information can call 1-800-542-2754, prompt #2.
