Customer Service Bulletin - CSX's Annual Maintenance Jamboree Scheduled July 1-8

June 26, 2013 – CSX’s main line in portions of three Southeastern states will be shut down July 1-8 for the company’s annual maintenance Jamboree. The project on this key coal route will compress required maintenance that would usually take up to 18 weeks into eight days.

Traffic between Shelby, Ky., and Spartanburg, S.C., and between Bostic, N.C., and Monroe, N.C., will experience 24-48 hours of increased transit time during the Jamboree. Re-routes have been established, and local service coordination is being handled by the Sales & Marketing, Customer Service and local transportation teams.

Service curtailment will begin on Saturday, June 29, as production teams move into place. Normal train operations are expected to resume late on July 10. Workers plan to install 64,428 cross ties and 150,151 linear feet of rail, and surface 40 miles of track.
