Customer Service Advisory - Northeast Indiana Derailment

April 23, 2014

Re-railing operations continue following a derailment in northeast Indiana Tuesday. The derailment is affecting rail traffic across the northern tier of the network. This includes freight traveling east-west on the northern tier of the CSX network, as well as traffic that runs between Chicago and Northwest Ohio. CSX cleared one of the main tracks at the derailment site, and began moving traffic at 10 a.m. this morning. The other main track is expected to be returned to service this evening.  Some traffic will continue to be rerouted, and there will be continued delays as the backlog is worked over the next several days.
