Customer Service Advisory - Line Opens at Baltimore, Md.; Work Continues at Lynchburg, Va.

May 2, 2014

CSX Transportation continues to work on two incidents that occurred Wednesday, April 30th that are affecting train traffic on two main lines in the Mid-Atlantic region.  CSX officials are working with local authorities at both locations.

In Baltimore Md., an earth slide covered the tracks and closed the line at that point. The line has been re-opened and trains are now running through the area.

In Lynchburg, Va., an oil train derailed several cars.  Materials and personnel are on standby to begin track repairs once the investigation concludes and the remaining derailed rail cars are removed.

Customers should expect delays due to backlogged train traffic for the next several days.
