In the wake of Hurricane Helene, CSX has made substantial progress in recovery efforts. Power has been restored and downed trees have been cleared in several areas. Our team is diligently working to reinstate full service as quickly and safely as possible, although some delays are still being experienced.

Florida, Georgia, Midwest, and Southern Zones are fully operational. 

Carolina Zone:

• Several rail lines have been restored, including:

  • Augusta Subdivision, opening a route from Augusta to Waycross

  • Columbia Subdivision, opening a route from Columbia to Savannah

  • Monroe Subdivision, opening a route from Hamlet to Atlanta

  • Eastover Subdivision, opening a route from Columbia to Sumter Yard

  • Charlotte Subdivision, opening a route from Monroe to Charlotte to Bostic

  • CN and L Subdivision has been restored from Clinton to Columbia. The team continues to work on restoring power from Clinton to Laurens.

• McCormick Subdivision is expected to have power restored and reopen this evening.

• Georgia Road (SW), Spartanburg, and Belton Subdivisions are currently closed due to power outages. Estimated restoration times range from Friday to Saturday evening.

• The Blue Ridge Subdivision has suffered extensive damage, with two bridges washed out and no estimated time for reopening.
