Enhancement to the User ID and PIN when Contacting Customer Service

CSX Transportation (CSXT) is working hard to simplify business processes while providing timely, accurate and secure Customer Service. We are pleased to announce an enhancement to the Customer User ID (UID) and Personal Identification Number (PIN) validation process, saving you time and effort.

Today when you call Customer Service, you are prompted to enter or speak your 5-digit ShipCSX UID and 10-digit PIN. Beginning November 16th, CSX will collect the telephone number you are calling from along with your validated UID and PIN combination, and store all 3 pieces of information. The next time you call from the same telephone number and enter or speak your ShipCSX UID, we will match your UID and telephone number for validation purposes and bypass the need to enter or speak your PIN if a match is found. If you are calling from a different telephone number than the one we have stored previously, you will be prompted to enter or speak both your UID and PIN for validation and we will store the new telephone number for the next time you call. This process is repeated each time you call from a new telephone number.
