To help ensure the safety of employees and the public, CSX is monitoring Hurricane Irene closely and taking appropriate measures. Preparations include operational plans and procedures to weather the storm and recover as rapidly as possible.

The company is planning local service curtailments in some areas of coastal North Carolina and coastal Virginia as necessary.

CSX will continue to monitor Irene and take other precautions as needed.
