Compensating Evacuated Residents of Blount County Mail-In Application Process

July 5, 2015

SX has established a process to compensate residents who were evacuated from their homes as a result of the train derailment in Blount County, Tennessee, once our Community Outreach Center closes.

CSX’s Community Outreach Center is scheduled to remain open until Friday, July 10 at 5 p.m. After this time, residents can request an application for compensation by calling TellCSX at 1-800-331-4031.

When completing the application, please include the following information:
• Name
• Phone number
• Home address (P. O. Boxes not accepted)
• Social security number
• Photocopy of your driver’s license or other form of photo I.D.
• Receipts for eligible costs incurred
• Proof of residency

The application package will include further instructions for itemizing damages and documenting lost wages. The compensation process usually takes approximately 4-6 weeks.

Until Friday, June 10, CSX representatives will be available to meet with affected residents at the Community Outreach Center to discuss the compensation process and answer any questions. The Outreach Center is located at Heritage Middle School (3737 E. Lamar Alexander Parkway).
