CSX is preparing for two arctic cold fronts that are expected to hit New England and the Northeast beginning Thursday and continuing through the weekend, with initial projections calling for moderate snowfall and strong winds. Winter contingency plans remain in effect, including maintenance and snow removal equipment in position for rapid response as necessary, switch heaters strategically located across the network, and other actions designed to maintain operations as long as it is safe to do so. Customers should be prepared for potential delays up to 24 to 48 hours. CSX continues to monitor both low pressure zones and will provide further updates to customers as more information becomes available.
