CSX personnel are working closely with Pendleton County first responders to respond to a CSX train derailment in Falmouth, Kentucky at Woodson Street around 10:40 a.m. today. CSX’s first priority is the safety of first responders, employees and the public. On-scene personnel are working to confirm the number of derailed cars and their contents, and to develop an action plan that protects public safety and minimizes the impact to the community and environment. There are no reports of injuries. The train was transporting 76 loaded cars, some of which are hazardous materials, and 49 empty cars en route from Cincinnati, Ohio to Atlanta, Georgia. CSX appreciates the swift and professional response from Pendleton County. We will continue to provide more information as it is confirmed.
