KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Six-time GRAMMY® Award-winning singer-songwriter Amy Grant will be the celebrity guest on the Santa Train when it makes its 72nd journey to bring gifts to Appalachian families on Saturday, Nov. 22.
She will accompany Santa and event sponsors CSX, Dignity U Wear, Food City and the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce on the 110-mile trek. Fans can use the hashtag #santatrain14 to engage in the Santa Train conversation on social media.
“I’m incredibly excited to be the celebrity guest on this year’s Santa Train,” Grant said. “It’s important to give back to the community, especially during the holidays, and I’m glad I can help.”
2014 promises to be a big year for Grant, who is scheduled to release her first-ever album of remixes on Aug. 19. “In Motion: The Remixes” is available for pre-order on iTunes now and includes an instant download of her remix for “Baby, Baby” featuring Dave Aude.
“We are thrilled to have a beloved performer like Amy Grant join us on the Santa Train,” said Tori Kaplan, AVP-corporate social responsibility for CSX. “Her music has a special impact on families during the holidays, and her presence will be an invaluable addition to the holiday spirit on the Santa Train.”
Grant has been performing music for more than 30 years, and she is widely credited with paving the way for the contemporary Christian genre. She has won countless awards during her career, including six GRAMMY® awards, and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Santa Train makes 14 stops through Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee and delivers toys and winter accessories to thousands of children and families along the way.

About Amy Grant:
Amy Grant’s career spans more than 30 years and stretches from her roots in gospel into becoming an iconic pop star, songwriter, television personality and philanthropist. With three multiplatinum albums, six platinum albums and four gold albums, her total career album sales have exceeded 30 million. Grant’s chart success has been consistent throughout her career with six No. 1 hits, 10 Top 40 pop singles, 17 Top 40 adult contemporary tracks and multiple contemporary Christian chart-toppers. In addition to her six GRAMMY® Awards, Grant has earned 26 Dove Awards (including four Artist of the Year Awards) and has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Conventional wisdom has it that Grant put contemporary Christian music on the map, becoming the first contemporary Christian artist to have a platinum record, the first to hit No. 1 on the pop charts, and the first to perform at the GRAMMY® Awards. With that, her legacy as one of the most influential artists of the past couple of decades is assured. Her first studio album in more than a decade, “How Mercy Looks From Here,” was released last year and debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 chart. Her first career remix album, “In Motion: The Remixes,” is set to debut Aug. 19.
