Demurrage is a charge assessed by railroads for the extended use of rail cars by shippers or receivers of freight beyond a specified free time. Demurrage ensures that cars are loaded or unloaded quickly so that they can be made available for the next shipment and that tracks can remain fluid to handle traffic.

Demurrage information can be analyzed by location, account or by specific rail cars.

• View number of cars and details on constructively placed, ordered, placed and released daily, monthly or by location.
• View historical demurrage charges from the previous 4 months.
