Changes to CSXT 8100 Tariff Coming
Released: Apr 1, 2009
To Our Valued Customers:
As has become our practice, we wanted to inform you well in advance of upcoming changes to the CSXT 8100 Tariff. We understand the time it takes to adjust to new rules or rate structures and want to provide you with sufficient notice.
Beginning July 1, 2009, CSXT will make the following changes to the CSXT 8100 Tariff:
Demurrage Section
- Unloading unit trains of covered hoppers -- credits will be reduced from 2 days to 1 day.
- Notices will no longer be faxed to customers. All notices will be available via ShipCSX or via an e-mail subscription. This includes courtesy notices, en route notices or constructive placement notification. (Learn about the new ShipCSX Notices tool.)
Diversions
- A new charge for unit train diversions will be created. A fee of $2,000 will be assessed for each unit train diverted (15 cars or greater).
- A new charge for private empty car diversions will be created. A fee of $275 will be assessed for every car diverted, excluding tank cars.
These changes are being made to enable us to keep your rail cars moving and to be more responsive to your changing needs.
