Weather Update - New storm to affect CSX service in the Northeast

Released: Feb 25, 2010

CSX is bracing for another strong winter storm forecast to hit the Northeast beginning Thursday afternoon and lingering into Friday. From New England to Pennsylvania, we expect heavy snowfall and high winds. Forecasters expect that roads will close through this region, and there will be downed trees and power lines. The storm's effects will likely extend into West Virginia and along the mid-Atlantic where there is still a lot of snow on the ground from previous storms. From Maine to Virginia, winds gusts of 50 mph or more are likely during the height of the storm.

Customers are advised to expect service delays during the worst of the storm and lingering affects to be felt through the weekend as crews work to restore service as quickly as possible. As always, our focus will be on conducting safe operations and serving our customers.
