Signature Partners

As part of our Pride in Service community investment initiative, CSX partners with some of the nation's leading veteran, military, and first responder organizations—each of whom address a unique area of need within the service community. Our signature partners include:

Blue Star Families

Blue Star Families was founded by military spouses in 2009 with a commitment to strengthen military families by connecting them with their neighbors, both individuals and organizations, to create vibrant communities of mutual support.

Together with Blue Star Families, CSX has supported the launch and growth of nine Chapter communities in key military markets – Jacksonville, Chicago, Tennessee, Baltimore, Tampa, Dayton, New England, New York City, and Washington DC – to bridge the divide between military families and their civilian neighbors across the country.

Operation Homefront

Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization, founded in 2002, with the mission to build strong, stable and secure military families so that they can thrive – not simply struggle to get by – in the communities they work to protect. Operation Homefront provides financial assistance, transitional and permanent housing, and family support services to prevent short-term needs from turning into chronic, long-term struggles.

Together, CSX and Operation Homefront connect military families with resources and grants, delivering financial support in times of transition and moments of greatest need. In addition to critical financial assistance, CSX is proud to support large-scale baby shower events for new and expecting military mothers, as well as back-to-school events providing required school supplies to military children.

First Responders Children’s Foundation

The First Responders Children’s Foundation was founded in wake of 9/11 to support children of first responders who have been lost or permanently disabled in the line of duty. The Foundation provides financial assistance as well as special experiences to support the well-being of line-of-duty families after their tragedy.

Together, CSX and the First Responders Children’s Foundation connect law enforcement, fire fighters, EMTs, and families with grants and scholarships for children to pursue their dreams of higher education, delivering financial support as they take the next step in their lives.

Operation Gratitude

Operation Gratitude was founded in 2003 to provide opportunities for hands-on volunteerism in support of military, veterans and first responders, helping Americans forge strong bonds and share acts of gratitude with their service members. The organization delivers care packages to those protecting our country in all 50 states and to those serving overseas.

Through Pride in Service, CSX and Operation Gratitude connect employees and community members with volunteer opportunities to deliver comfort and care to local law enforcement and firefighters as well as deployed troops and their children when gratitude is most needed. CSX employees also participate in an ongoing letter writing campaign, aimed to show their support for servicemen and women.

Wounded Warrior Project

Wounded Warrior Project has been meeting the growing needs of warriors, their families and caregivers since 2003 – helping them achieve their highest ambition.

With Wounded Warrior Project, CSX became the first national presenting sponsor of the Carry Forward 5K – a fitness challenge and fundraiser that helps wounded warriors access free life-changing programs. Together, CSX and Wounded Warrior Project have hosted Carry Forward events in San Diego, Nashville and Jacksonville. Through Pride in Service, CSX connects employees and community members with wounded warriors to understand their needs and raise critical funds and awareness for the issue. CSX also supports programs and events aimed at training wounded veterans ready to transition back into the workforce.
