CSX and the Alabama Community

  • In partnership with state and local economic development agencies, Alabama businesses invested nearly $117 million in new or expanded rail-served facilities on CSX or its connecting regional and short lines in 2015. These investments will generate more than 180 new jobs at those businesses.
  • CSX has designated the Macon County I-85 Site in Tuskegee and Notasulga and the Wasden Road I-65 Site in Montgomery as “Select Sites,” which are rail-served, ready-to-build locations for industrial development and expansion. The “Select Site” program is part of CSX’s network-wide economic development initiative.
  • In 2015, CSX contributed more than $92,000 to organizations in Alabama, including JDRF, Christmas for Kids, Alabama Operation Lifesaver, and Freshwater Land Trust.
