Railway Age Taps CSX's Stephanie Denton as 2021 Women in Rail Winner

October 28, 2022 – CSX’s Stephanie Denton has been chosen by Railway Age as one of the magazine’s Women in Rail award winners for 2021. Her profile will be included in the November issue of Railway Age along with the 25 other winners from across North America.

In her role as director of Freight Claims and Damage Prevention, Stephanie has made a significant impact at CSX and the rail industry through her work identifying and implementing risk management strategies that reduce damage to rail freight and promote safe loading and securement by customers.

She championed an innovative damage prevention methodology that incorporates data analytics to find trends and reduce and eliminate damage exposure. She also was a key contributor to a project of the Automotive Industry Action Group and Class Is to develop new auto inspection location codes that are now in use by the industry.

Stephanie exemplifies the growing contributions of women in the rail industry, which Railway Age said is reflected in the increasingly competitive Women in Rail awards. “They are making their mark on the industry with their outstanding leadership, vision, innovations, community service involvement and accomplishments,” said Jonathan Chalon, publisher, in announcing this year’s honorees.
