CSX Recognizes 70 Customers with 25th Annual Chemical Safety Excellence Award


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – May 10, 2019 – CSX Corporation (NASDAQ: CSX) recently recognized 70 customers with CSX’s annual Chemical Safety Excellence Award for their commitment to the safe transportation of hazardous materials.

“We are pleased to honor these customers who, like CSX, place the highest priority on safe operations,” said Dean Piacente, vice president industrial products. “We work together with our customers to continue to make rail the safest choice to move freight over land.”

Each year, the Chemical Safety Excellence Awards recognize customers who safely ship more than 600 carloads of hazardous materials during the year prior without a release due to controllable factors. Now in its 25th year, the Chemical Safety Excellence Awards honor customers committed to safe procedures, such as securing valves and closures properly, and safe loading.

For 2018, CSX recognizes five customers who successfully achieved 10 or more consecutive years of Safety Excellence – Aux Sable Liquid Products, Inc.; Cargill; Kemira; Nouryon Chemicals LLC; and SABIC Americas, Inc.

Customers with five or more years of Safety Excellence are Americas Styrenics LLC; Celanese; CHS Inc.; ExxonMobil Chemical; Gibson Energy; Green Plains, Inc.; Huntsman International LLC; Husky Energy; Linde; Nan Ya Plastics Corporation; NOVA Chemicals, Inc; and Pembina Pipeline Corporation.
