July 26, 2019 – Inbound Logistics ranks CSX among 75 Green Supply Chain Partners

CSX has earned a spot on the list of 75 Green Supply Chain Partners selected by the editors of Inbound Logistics. The June 2019 issue of the publication recognized companies that are committed to sustainable, eco-friendly supply chain services.

Among CSX’s green initiatives are reducing greenhouse gas emissions, energy use and overall environmental footprint. The company achieved the best fuel economy in its history in 2018, hauling every ton of freight an average of 492 miles on a gallon of fuel.

Most notably, CSX has achieved its 2020 greenhouse gas emissions goal two years ahead of schedule. In 2011, the company set a goal to reduce emissions intensity by 6 to 8 percent by 2020. It surpassed the goal in 2018 by achieving an 8.1 percent reduction from 2011 levels.
