CSX is among 145 U.S. companies to earn a place on the 2018 Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion, as determined by the annual Disability Equality Index (DEI).
The honor reflects CSX’s comprehensive efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace as a strategy for broadening access to the best talent and supporting employee development.
The DEI is a joint initiative between the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and the US Business Leadership Network (USBLN). Designed by disability advocates and business leaders, the DEI is the nation’s most trusted comprehensive benchmarking tool for disability inclusion. The index measures key performance indicators across organizational culture, leadership, accessibility, employment, community engagement, support services and supplier diversity.
CSX earned a place on the “Best Places” honor role by earning a DEI score of 80 percent. DEI participants include Fortune 1000 corporations and Am Law 100 firms who are leaders across 25 business sectors. To access the full company list click here.
CSX is active in USBLN initiatives, including the organization’s Going for the Gold project that connects participating corporate partners with USBLN subject matter experts on promoting disability inclusion through leading practices and tools.
The company also participated in a July 9 USBLN twitter chat event to offer insights into how CSX implements best practices for diversity inclusion and the value it gains from actively recruiting and supporting employees with disabilities.
