Sean Pelkey

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Sean Pelkey assumed the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2022. In this role, he guides all of the finance activities for the company, including accounting, financial planning, investor relations, procurement, tax and treasury. Pelkey took on this pivotal role after demonstrating his financial acumen and leadership skills as CSX Vice President and Treasurer since 2017.

Pelkey's tenure at CSX started in 2005 and over the years, he has held multiple strategic roles within the Finance department. His positions have ranged from Assistant Vice President of Capital Markets to various directorial and managerial roles spanning investor relations, performance analysis, financial planning, and IT finance.

Pelkey earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Florida Warrington School of Business, as well as a bachelor's degree from Boston University. Further honing his leadership skills, Pelkey completed CSX's Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School.
