Senior Vice President of Operations West
Brian Barr is Senior Vice President of Operations West at CSX with responsibility for oversight and coordination of transportation, mechanical, engineering, safety and various support functions across the region.
Previously, Barr was Senior Vice President of Engineering and Mechanical, overseeing Engineering and Mechanical functions at the system level. He also served as Vice President of Mechanical, responsible for maintaining and improving locomotive reliability and rail car availability, with an emphasis on safety. Prior to his system-wide positions, he served as the Chief Mechanical Officer for the Southern Region. His extensive field experience includes having served as the Division Manager in Huntington, W.V.; Assistant Division Manager in Atlanta; Plant Manager in Selkirk, N.Y.; and various other positions of increasing responsibility since joining CSX in 1998.
Barr graduated from Bellevue University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He also completed the CSX Executive Development Program at Harvard Business School.
