Savoy magazine has named CSX’s Arthur Adams, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing, to its 2022 list of the Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America.
In selecting the top executives for 2022, the African American business and lifestyle magazine screened more than 500 candidates based on their corporate sector influence, scholastic achievement, career growth, community outreach and recognition. Arthur and other 2022 honorees will be recognized at a reception held in conjunction with the Savoy Directors Forum, Tuesday, July 19, in Washington, D.C.
“These innovative trailblazers have led efforts to foster growth for some of the country’s highest-performing companies throughout and beyond the US market,” said L.P. Since joining CSX in 2007 with experience in the retail and healthcare sectors, Arthur has continually helped strengthen the company’s market position and customer relationships, as he has developed into one of the rail industry’s leading commercial strategists.
In his current role, he is responsible for leading CSX’s entire Merchandise business portfolio, which includes Agriculture and Food, Chemicals, Fertilizers, Paper and Forest, Metals, and Minerals markets. He also oversees the company’s Business Development team. Previously, Arthur was senior vice president of Sales, responsible for leading the company’s Merchandise sales teams as well as Customer Solutions and TRANSFLO. He also previously led the transformation of customer service operations and e-solutions enhancements.
Arthur contributes to the community by serving on the Board of Directors of Communities in Schools of Jacksonville, a non-profit organization that helps thousands of students every year stay on track to graduation. He also serves on the Florida Council of UNCF. He holds a master’s degree in intermodal transportation management from the University of Denver and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Jacksonville University.
