Social Activities Report By Glyn Bailey, Committee Chairman
We have already enjoyed several great RABO outings this year and even more are in store for all.
On Friday, July 29th at 10:00 AM there will be a joint meeting RABO and CHEERS at the B&O Railroad Museum, Baltimore, Maryland. Members and families including children and grandchildren, are admitted FREE to the Museum, courtesy of the Museum.
There will be a buffet lunch, including an open bar, other refreshments and scrumptious desserts. The cost is the same as a regular RABO luncheon; $16.00 per person. There is no cost for children 12 and under.
There will be available tours of the Museum and car repair shop; a train ride to the Mount Clare Mansion; model trains; and children's rides. Following lunch, there will be a presentation by Museum Staff on topic of the Civil War and the B&O’s involvement in it.
We will head up to Pennsylvania on August 18th for a 5 PM dinner at the New Freedom Family Restaurant and Coffee Shop. That will be followed by a visit to the New Freedom station of the Northern Central Railroad where we will be given rides on motor cars up and down the former Pennsylvania Railroad line. That will be followed by cake and ice cream at the station.
On Wednesday, August 31st at 11:00 AM, the regular RABO luncheon meeting at Snyder’s Restaurant in Linthicum, Maryland will feature Crab Cakes or, if you prefer, Prime Rib.
Tuesday, September 20 - 4:30 PM will be the ever popular dinner at Friendly Farm, Upperco, Maryland.
On Tuesday, October 11th at 11:00 AM the Annual RABO Reunion will be held at Snyder’s Restaurant. All members, their spouses and significant others, are invited to attend. Sign-up sheets will be provided at a later date.
You can sign-up with me, Glyn Bailey, at 410-769-8049 or E-Mail rdglbailey@aol.com for any and all of these events.
Join us for the fun, food, fellowship, frivolity and even education offered by these outings.
