May 15: Annual Meeting held at Jacksonville General Office Building

June 14: Meet us at the Suns Game Matinee Special. Businessman Special is $14.50 and includes hot dog, drink and home plate tickets. Game begins at 1:05 PM, so let's meet around 12:30.

July 10-17: The 2010 CSX Employees Golf Tournament will be held at the Mission Inn Resort, Howey-in-the Hills, Fla. Registration will be July 13, with the tournament starting on Wednesday, July 14 through Friday July l6. For more information, go to www.cegagolf.com.

  • Ladies Tournament will be played Thursday July 15 on the "El Campeon" Course. Contact Barbara Nall at bnall@fscj.edu or 352-205-8805 for application.
  • 2nd Annual Junior Golf Camp for children and grandchildren (5-17), will be held Monday thru Friday, but is available on a daily basis. Cost will be $15 per day. Please call Larry Evans, 904-502-3084, if you have any questions.

Sept. 13: John L. Coleman Charity Golf Tournament, benefiting Taylor Residences, will be held at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club. Contact Kathy Coleman at Kcoleman@bellsouth.net

Oct. 24-30: Sail Away for a 7-day Western Caribbean getaway leaving Tampa, Fla., on the Carnival Legend. Stops include the Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize, and Isla Roaton. The fares (which include all government fees and taxes) start at $569 for an inside cabin and $719 for a balcony. (These prices could be slightly higher now as February 1st was the booking date for guaranteed cabins). This cruise is listed as a CSX Retiree cruise but you don't have to be retired or associated with the railroad to join us. Please share this information with your friends and family. Nov. 13: Rick Wilkins Celebrity Golf Tournament.

Nov. 18: Thanksgiving Dinner at Cathedral Terrace. CSX Retirees provide lunch and Thanksgiving greetings for the folks at Cathedral Terrace. Volunteers needed to help.

Dec. 5: CSX Children's Christmas Party. Volunteers needed to help to help Santa at the party.

May 27 - June 6, 2011: Cruise the Eastern Mediterranean for 10-Nights of FUN on the Celebrity Equinox. Ports include Rome, Sicily & Naples, Italy; Athens, Rhodes, Santorini & Mykonos, Greece and Ephesus, Turkey. Prices start at $1932 for inside cabins and up to $2382 for concierge class balcony rooms (based on double occupancy). These rates include ALL port charges & taxes. Space will be held until Sept. 30, 2010 with a deposit of $900 per cabin required at time of booking. Prices do not include trip insurance, air fare or the round-trip transfer from the Rome airport to the pier at $200 per person. Just a quick summary of last year's fun events

  • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation annual walk to help raise monies for this great organization.
  • Our annual meeting and luncheon.
  • A night with the Suns where we saw our favorite team win.
  • The CEGA golf tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
  • Dinner with the Greyhounds at the Orange Park Kennel Club.
  • The John Coleman golf tournament benefiting Taylor Residences.
  • Two cruises, one to see the spectacular fall foliage in the northeastern states and Canada. The other visited the eastern Caribbean for Thanksgiving.
  • Serving Thanksgiving dinner to the residents of Cathedral Terrace.
  • A day spent with Santa delivering Christmas cheer to the children and grandchildren of CSX employees and retirees.
  • CSX donated all of the poinsettias that made up the Christmas tree in the lobby at the GOB to the Retirees Association so we could distribute them to many assisted living and nursing homes in our area.
