2012 CSX Retiree Annual Reunion
“That was a great–perhaps the greatest–meeting I’ve been to. You obviously put a LOT of work into it. I would say it was time well spent. Nice…” Ed Pettit. This was one of many great comments the Retiree Steering Committee received after this year’s annual retiree reunion.
Thanks to the Corporate Citizenship team led by Tori Kaplan, the event was held at the Prime Osborn Convention Center on April 14th. The facility was beautiful and large enough to accommodate 650+ retirees and volunteers who attended.
Over 30 vendors displayed their wares and services—many of them awarded very coveted door prizes. The retirees were extremely happy with the variety of information provided, and all the vendors indicated a desire to return in 2013.
Oscar Munoz, Chief Operating Officer delivered a stimulating keynote address, “The State of CSX,” and candidly answered many questions from retirees, who always appreciate our executives taking time to share important information with those who spent their careers in the railroad industry. Following the program, an excellent plated lunch was served.
The Committee is looking forward to having at least as great a meeting next year, so watch for your invitation in the early Spring.
