Annual CSX Retiree Association Meeting
Nearly 400 retirees filled the CSX Headquarters lobby in Jacksonville on Saturday, May 21, for the 11th Annual CSX Retiree Association meeting and vendor expo. The retirees were entertained and informed by knowledgeable speakers relating to the state of the Company, benefits, upcoming events and volunteerism. Attendees also had the opportunity to interact with vendors regarding their personal questions, and there was a great prize raffle.
Bob Patterson emceed the event, and in CSX tradition, Cliff Redmon started off the meeting with an upbeat safety briefing, Lisa Mancini, senior vice president and chief administrative officer and Oscar Munoz, executive vice president and chief financial officer provided up-to-the-minute information about CSX initiatives and corporate strength including the three-for-one stock split that occurred in June. Diana Menaker, vice president, J.P. Morgan-Chase shared the latest information about the economy. From Extend Health, vice president David Lucarelli provided information about a new partnership with CSX, how it affects retirees, and his commitment to address member concerns. Kathy Coleman shared upcoming retiree activities (cruises, golf tournaments, dinner theater) and Bob Patterson provided a RABO (Retired Administrators of the B&O Railroad) update.
Eighteen vendors and service providers staffed booths with information and gifts for retirees. They included benefits and financial counseling providers, CSX Benefits staff, Corporate Citizenship with volunteerism opportunities, charities and associations, credit unions, the Railroad Retirement Board and more. T.K. Hilton and the Iron Horsemen provided pre-meeting entertainment and Susan Hamilton, assistant vice president Diversity joined them for a military tribute. Eurest provided an excellent lunch after the meeting.
It was a great day for reconnecting with old friends and colleagues and getting pertinent information retirees need. The steering committee is already planning next year’s event. We hope to see you again next year.
