Technology Management Trainee

Job Summary:
Participates in an innovative training program aimed at developing the skills of future business leaders within a dynamic, progressive Information Technology (IT) department and long-term across CSX Corporation. Rotates through technology groups with broad exposure to a range of state-of-the-art technologies and multiple career opportunities. Delivers solutions and influences business decisions based on effective communication, business understanding and sound technical knowledge.  
 

Primary Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and support Technology goals and objectives across three discipline areas:
    • Applications development; project definition, requirement specification, design, software programming, testing, implementation and maintenance.
    • Enterprise services; information, project, security, architecture and change management.
    • Operations and infrastructure support; database, systems software, server, capacity, storage and systems administration.
  • Develop business relationships with internal customers and business partners.
  • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution required in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, or related major field of study
  • 1 or more years of experience in 1 or more Business-related internships required in Information Technology
  • Grade point average of at least 3.2 (based on a 4-point scale) required in major field of study for your highest degree

Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to meeting the above the following are preferred:

  • Masters degree from an accredited institution
  • Grade point average of at least 3.5 (based on a 4-point scale) in major field of study for your highest degree

Job Requirements:

  • Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a nonstandard workweek and various shift).
  • Work hours include rotating on-call responsibilities which may be on weekends or outside standard working hours.
  • Willing and able to work different shifts as assigned in a 24 hour/7 days a week operation (including working weekends and holidays).
  • The applicant selected for this position may be required to successfully complete a background check and drug test. Passing results must be received prior to start date in new position.
