Purchasing & Materials Management Trainee

CSX’s Purchasing & Materials group handles the acquisition, delivery and management of items and services necessary for railroad operations across our system.

Purchasing & Materials is responsible for ensuring that all procurement decisions result in the best value for CSX and has core accountability for CSX spending, inventory management, investment recovery sales, and materials logistics management of all CSX departments.

P&M management trainees work closely with senior managers during a 12 month rotational assignment at different CSX network locations.  Training consists of hands on learning in the field while managing a team of people. 

Requirements:
A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, and Transportation and Logistics is required.  Applicants should demonstrate a record of leadership, project execution, problem solving and communication skills. After successful completion of the program, trainees will be placed in a full-time, entry-level management position.

This position calls for relocation, flexibility to work weekends, holidays, swing shifts, evenings as well as the use of protective gear, including hard-hat and steel-toed boots.
