The Management Trainee Program at CSX develops your leadership skills while you apply your academic and prior work experiences in an actual work environment.

Recruiting Calendar

Get TRAINed without delay

All management trainees begin with a one-week orientation in Jacksonville, Fla. Then you will either attend training at the Railroad Education and Development Institute (REDI) in Atlanta, Ga., or begin a rotation at an assigned location. Most non-operational (Commercial, Finance) rotations are at CSX’s headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla., while most of the operational rotations (Transportation, Mechanical, Intermodal, Customer Service/Network Operations, Engineering) include on-the-job experience at any one of the many CSX field operations locations within our 23 state network east of the Mississippi River including:

  • Albany, N.Y.
  • Atlanta, Ga.
  • Baltimore, Md.
  • Huntington, W.Va.
  • Florence, S.C.
  • Jacksonville, Fla.
  • Louisville, Ky.
  • Chicago, Ill.
  • Indianapolis, Ind.
  • Nashville, Tenn.

Get TRAINed with variety

The Management Trainee Program may be completed within 6 to 18 months, depending upon which program you are in. Management trainees are expected to gain the broadest possible experience across several functions, with exposure to different senior managers and operating styles. Trainees finishing the program will be prepared for leadership positions managing people and/or projects within any number of areas.
