Released: December 1, 2011
Earlier today the American Train Dispatchers Association (ATDA) and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) reached tentative agreements with the railroads. The railroads have also agreed to a February extension for negotiations with the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.
This eliminates the threat of a work stoppage next week and means operations will continue -- business as usual -- through the holiday season.
